OpenAI Money

While it is really nice to see that OpenAI has made ChatGPT free it makes me wonder how they are making money in order to continuously improve the AI, because I seriously doubt that by now it is just a couple of blokes in their rooms writing this code as a hobby. So where does all the money come from to pay for those expensive developers because I don't see any advertising on their website either. I figured ChatGPT would be an expert on OpenAI seeing as that is its creator.

That's a good idea. Get big business to pay for it. But... hopefully that doesn't mean that big business gets to decide on what direction it is heading in.

Now I noticed that ChatGPT didn't mention how that while ChatGPT is free, you do have to pay for the AI generated art section (mind you not much). Things might change, most companies don't give up the chance to earn a little bit extra cash particularly in today's economy so who knows, one day we might be paying for ChatGPT services.
